Newsletter February 2011

Dear Lanercost Customer

I'd like to update you on a couple of things we've been working on recently.

Diary of Events

The Gallery Gatherings

The first two which have been arranged begin in March, hopefully we'll soon have a calendar of dates throughout the next 6 months. Each time we'll have an interesting guest speaker on a whole variety of topics, we've even got some courses on bee keeping and local guided walks being planned and of course we'll include either our fabulous homemade cake and coffee or a buffet lunch depending on the time of day. Of course I'll send you an email to let you have the first opportunity of booking your place.

Jewellery Day 3rd March 11.00a.m

Lanercost Walks

A number of regular customers have their own favourite walk around Lanercost and we're asking for your feedback on which one you enjoy the most.  It would be really good to be able to share this with others and for the Summer we're hoping to actually have our own leaflets printed.  With this in mind it would be very useful to have some personal reviews of any walks you do so please feel free to write and let me know and perhaps send me some photos too?

Don't forget......

The Lanercost Weekend Brunch
This is proving to be very popular, served every Saturday & Sunday 10.00-1.00, and a great way to start the day!

New season collections and the Made in Cumbria Gallery
New ranges are arriving in the gift shop including a lovely new collection of greetings cards.  The Made in Cumbria Gallery and crafts which arrived mid December has been a real success and we hope to expand on this when we can.

The Marmalade Festival 12th & 13th February
at Dalemain, Penrith.

Following on from our successful 'award winning' stall at the Cumbrian Christmas Market we're now going to be at the Marmalade Festival next weekend (see www.marmaladeawards.com ).  The event is in aid of Hospice at Home (Carlisle and North Lakeland). We're very pleased to say that one of our regular conference customers, Craig McCullough (Operations Manager for the Co-op) has helped the festival create a pyramid of oranges for the first time.  He has donated 210KG of Seville oranges on behalf of his local Co-op store at Brampton which will also help the Girl Guides attempt at making a record breaking jar of marmalade next weekend!  Thank you to Craig and all at the Co-op for rising to the challenge on our behalf!

Kind regards

Mike & Victoria Farley
